Favourite Cover Versions you prefer as much/more than the Original

CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:i have to agree with you there Jerome

I am not a great Beatles fan but there is no denying their huge influence on music and it is seldom I would say that someone does a better version of their material but this is the one exception. The live Woodstock version of this is a track that still gives me goosebumps. Worth noting too that Nikki Yanofsky chose this version to cover.

Absolutely agree! RE: Joe Cocker's version of With A Little Help From My Friends
"The one thing the blues don't get is the backing and pushing of TV and radio like a lot of this garbage you hears. They choke stuff down people's throat so they got no choice but to listen to it." ~ John Lee Hooker

Hear! Hear! I agree with this too. Far Superior to Tears For Fears.

Another fav: Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles by The Black Keys

Yes the "lads" wrote beautiful melodies for other artists to sing !
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!

Etta James - Take It To The Limit (The Eagles)
Tom Jones - Unbelievable (EMF)

Both versions convince me that the artists "own" their performance of the songs.
