PETER CRISS "out of control" 1980,cd.
this is the second solo album, and first since his departure from KISS earlier in the year.
it is a fine rock album, but dont expect a KISS sounding one as you wont find it here, this is more a blues rock, out and out rock and ballads album and the "cat-man" doesnt dissapoint. all the tracks here were written or co-written by Peter Criscolla himself except "you better run", which incidently became a minor hit for Pat Benatar in the same year.
there are none of the usual KISS themes here, instead we have a mature album where subject matter deals with relationships and life in general, the opening track "by myself" is my pick of the tracks here and it deals with the pro's and con's of Criss having to deal with life after being in one of the greatest live bands of the 1970's.
Criss proves here that there is more to him than being a 'sticks man' and also that he is capable of writing more than just one classic song(the well known one being "beth").
unfortunately for Criss all subsequent albums fail to match this one and the "kiss" solo set from 1978.
