How the hell is Cave underrated? Sure, he deserves way more credit, along with Tim Buckley and Tom Waits, he's the best songwriter of the 20th, but he's pretty well regarded
anyways, New Day Rising-Husker Du After releasing the double album masterpiece "Zen Arcade", the Du take a less ambitious and more melodic approach, going from post hardcore to a college rock-esque sound. I don't fancy myself a post hardcore fan, but I love the 80's college rock sound, so I think I favor this slightly to the also brilliant "Zen Arcade"

Speaking for the U.S. Nick has never had that. The album posted (Murder Ballads) never even touched the Billboard 200. Out of 14 albums with the Bad Seeds, 9 of them have never made that chart. The highest charting was the last one, Dig Lazarus Dig, which made a showing at #64 here. I'm sure Nick has done much better in his homeland and even the U.K., and he is well respected by those in the industry, but as far as chart success in the states, Nick Cave is very underrated.

![]() Holiday i-Pod listening. Another collaboration of musical geniuses (genii ?!) that yields some high quality material of a vaguely Alternative persuasion. AllMusic 4/5 stars.

![]() Holiday i-Pod listening. Almost like listening to Alt-Folk nursery rhymes with Hip-Hop beats, in fact exactly like listening to Alt-Folk nursery rhymes with Hip-Hop beats. Refreshingly original. AllMusic 4/5 stars.

![]() Holiday i-Pod listening. Mark Everett's post-catharsis album. Lighter, but by no means lightweight. AllMusic 3/5 stars.

![]() Holiday i-Pod listening. Recentish release from firebrand Brit songwriter. He's mellowed a little, but there's little let-up in his song-writing skill. Criminally under-appreciated artist. Love the cover shot... AllMusic 4/5 stars.
