Who is your favorite group or artist ?
#1
Well I've been a member of MD for over six months and it seems a lot longer !

So now it's time to "spill the beans " folks.

I am a music fanatic like all of us and I appreciate and listen to all types of music in search of new sounds pretty much on a daily basis. Music Discussion is my primary source of music information.

Having said that, there is one group that I always go back to ...they're my comfort zone so to speak. They're the group that inspired me to "try to learn guitar"...they're the group that sends chills up and down my spine and many times cause me to shed a tear or even cry ! They're the group that defined my generation and are still here today in full force musically....there are even radio stations that play their music only !

I saw Paul McCartney in concert in 2009 and I fell to my knees and put my hands over my face after the show ended with The End !...I will never forget it as long as I live ! Macca is keeping the legend alive..and yes he plays 21 Beatle songs out of 33 or so in his concerts !

Try to name ONE ARTIST only that takes you back to your "comfort zone " !

THIS POST IS FOR FUN and INFORMATION..so slamming anyone's personal choice is foolish and futile !!!!!

I DID NOT INTEND THIS THREAD FOR THAT REASON !!!!! MUSIC is a very PERSONAL CHOICE !!!!

In case you're wondering ....it's THE BEATLES

i know youre probably thinking Neil Young or Paul Weller or Neil & Tim Finn but when all is said and done it has to be Elvis Presley for me, been listening to him since i was some two years old, and the whole thrill of listening to him hasnt diminished over the last 40+ yrs

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

You may say The Beatles,,,what an ordinary choice for a favorite group ! On the contrary....remember all the suggestions you all quoted so tremendously a little while ago with regards to Beatle song covers ????

Quite an impressive list I thought...thanks very much to all again !

That's the beauty of the Beatles...possibly the most covered band ever ?....obviously the music world is well aware of their great songs...it's not just the group ..it's the countless offspring of covers they inspired !....
