i agree...Just Like A Woman is brilliant, im not a huge Rod Stewart fan but he did a brilliant version of it on his 'tonight im yours' album from around 1981

Bob's seventh album, a double on vinyl. Acoustic Bob was history. I would miss him but I have that history and you
can't go back. Al Kooper is back on this one along with the first appearance of future Band member Robbie Robertson
and his touring band The Hawks. About any style you could imagine on this album, with superb lyrics as usual. Just
Like A Woman has always been one of my favorite Dylan songs of all time. Just beautiful along with Visions Of
Johanna and Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands. Nothing I don't like on here, with an even split between love and like
tracks. On the downside, Rainy Day Women has never been at the top of my list. I think it's all that background
talking and laughing that's distracting. The album peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart in the USA, where it
eventually went double-platinum, and reached No. 3 in the UK. Continue to be amazed by the lack of Dylan tracks on youtube.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

VAN MORRISON "astral weeks" cd,1968.
got rained out at work today, so i'll have three or four albums to post ive listened to over the last 24hrs or so, so lets start the posting...
i dont know where to start with this one...i try so hard to like Van's early material but i just dont get it, i mean i love "moondance" and a lot of what came after it, but this is pure crap IMO, i just cannot get my head around what he is trying to say...is he trying to convey something? or, am i trying to read too much into it? i dunno, maybe its the length of these tracks i dont like, they just seem to go on and on and on without purpose, but people obviously 'get it' because its ranked #19 on Rolling Stone's top500 albums

FLEETWOOD MAC "rumours" cd,1977.
never a big fan of the Mac's...or is that meant to be a fan of 'the big mac'?...probably both as they both have too much pickle and sauce, but not enough meat LMAO!
not a bad album i guess, just average IMO,(oh God,waiting for Jerome's reply now!), just never been into that middle-of-the-road American soft rock stuff(like Eagles and America also!), too wishyy-washy for me to get my teeth in to in a big way.,but yes, i have four or five America albums on cd(aint played 'em for a while so i guess they'll start popping up shortly also.).
there are three tracks i love on this one though, "dreams", "dont stop" and "the chain",but also three i dont like much, the rest..well, i can take or leave them, no a bad album, just really only useful for background noise IMO.

THE WHO "the who sell out" cd,1967.
The Who's first concept album...
the concept was that you're supposed to be listening to a radio station, complete with commercials(real and made up by the band!)....great tongue-in-cheek idea, but doesnt work...and im a huge Who fan.
the songs here are very weak by Townshend's standards,Daltry tries to do a good job vocally, but its a bit hard to polish up a dog-turd IMO.
i guess the only positive thing about this one is that the cd contains nine bonus tracks that werent included on the original vinyl release, seven of those bonus tracks are ok, two are crap, and that sums up the album in general, icouldnt recommend this album as a starting point to enter the world of The Who, try "tommy","who's next","face dances" or their debut set "my generation" for that!
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

EDDIE COCHRAN "the eddie cochran singles album" cd,1979. #39 UK
Eddie had a short 18month career prior to his death in a car crash in the UK in 1960(my dad saw him perform on that tour)...
never really big anywhere, but in terms of charting singles was way more successful in the UK than anywhere else...
like Carl Perkins, one of the forgotten men of 1950s Rock 'n' Roll, this album contains all of his UK hits, plus numerous other tracks ranging from ballads thru a doo-wop type song to straight out r+r in Summertime Blues,C'mon Everybody,Something Else and Twenty Flight Rock all of which are 50s rock standards...although i love "cmon everybody" and "something else" ive got to say that Sid Vicious/Sex Pistols covers are equal if not better than the originals.
ironically,in a strange twist of fate though, there is a tribute to Richie Valens,Buddy Holly and Big Bopper on here called "three stars"...Eddie died not long after this was recorded. and ironically, his only #1 hit anywhere was also in the UK with the apt titled 'three steps to heaven'
several fillers on here, but the vast majority are good rock and roll numbers..long live rock n roll!!!!!

One of the few live albums that get a love rating from me. Maybe not live in the traditional sense. This was
recorded in a studio for live broadcast on WABC radio back in Elton's early years. It is his fourth album and he had
made waves on both sides with both his self tited and Tumbleweed Connection albums. I guess that justified this
release. Surprised it did as well as it did, with a #11 here in the states. The only other performers here are Nigel
Olsen and Dee Murray. Davey Johnstone had yet to join the band. Think all these tracks were previously released
except for the Honky Tonk Women cover which is my least favorite. Love three tracks and like three. Sixty Years On
is my favorite. Would have been Burn Down The Mission, but it turns into a jam with some Get Back and something else
thrown in, going on for 22 minutes. There is an audience for the recording, but their input is at a minimum,
sporadic applause and whooping it up. More like a club setting. Did not include clips for these tracks unless they were from that recording.
