A disappointing follow up to my favorite Sparks album, Kimono My House. Still a couple of great
tracks. This is the bands fourth album and as with their previous efforts, did better in the UK
than here. This is actually the groups highest charting album in the US at a weak #63, with the
UK taking it to #9. Two singles, Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth and Something For The
Girl With Everything, never touched the chart here, but top 20 there. Who needs americans
anyway? Unreal that the Mael brothers are still going at it, having never achieved any
mainstream success. Still love watching them although they've moved on to more techno stuff
now.

THE BAND "music from big pink" cd,1968
have only this one and their self titled set which i do not like, but this one is a lot better IMO...
this has a real, what they term 'americana' feel to it, three songs on here either written by Dylan or cowritten with him.
only on eon here that i do not like whereas the other album i own has at least half the album in that catagory...
struggling to decide which track i love most here out of the classic "the weight" or "tears of rage, guess i should go with the latter so that someone may hear a song they do not know as we all know the weight...

LOL...I am currently listening to the entire album Jerome...thanks to Evil!!!!...the album is ladened with ELP mellotrons, CSN and Simon Garfunkel harmonies, nice jazz fusion and orchestra with Jethro Tull flutes, great guitar riffs and brilliant vocals from the INCREDIBLE STEVEN WILSON!!!!! one of my definite favorites for 2013...and there haven't been many so far...also would include Birds of Tokyo! I'll give a review soon...I thought of you when I first heard the mellotrons and orchestra...Alan Parsons is the engineer on this album so you can definitely hear his influence and also there are murmurings of ELP and YES and REM...what a great album!!!!!!Lots of progressive sounds here with jazz fusion and rock!!!!..and a wicked funky bass!

You hit the nail on the head my friend. Could not have described it better myself. So it's more than just coincidence that 'The Raven' gets mentioned again, albeit 30 years later.....(or is that 40?) - 70's, 80's, 90's, Noughties, and Teenies.

Thank God someone is starting to create expansive thinking music again. It's been a long time coming.

By the way - don't you think the character on the cover is more than just a little bit similar to the young 'Pink' from 'The Wall'?

IRON BUTTERFLY "in-a-gadda-da-vida" cd,1967
got this one a while ago as part of an Iron Butterfly 3cd album set..
i always liked the title track, but when i first played this i just didnt 'get it'...i let Music Head know what i thought, and his reply was 'i was afraid of that'...probably because its one of those 'had to be there' albums...
so i listened a few more times to give it time to work with me, and thankfully it has..
its a good album, not great, but not bad neither...not so sure about the 17 minute version of the title tracks though with those lengthy drum solos on the middle which sort of let it down a bit for me...had previously only ever heard the standard radio edit version which i love,
but now there is nothing i do not like on this one whatsoever....

Back to the new stack for this $5 purchase from the bargain bin. How can you pass up a
Fleetwood Mac studio album that you don't have for $5? Not at their best but a decent enough
album. Two love tracks out of it with Little Lies leading the way. It is the groups 14th studio
album and the last with the lineup we all know, as Lindsey Buckingham left the group shortly
after this was released. This album began as a Buckingham solo project then morphed into an FM
album. Did not know that this album became the groups second best selling, after Rumours. Four
singles were released of which Little Lies peaked the highest here, at #4. The album reached #7
here and #1 in the UK.

interesting Mac comes up today, i saw an interview with an Aussie tour promoter from the 1960s thru 1990s, he was saying those guys on their 'rumours' tour ALL snorted coke non stop whilst in australia(on and off stage)...were also so extravagant with their backstage demands, the original real prima donnas!
nt big fan of Fleetwood Mac, only album i have is 'rumours' and that barely passes the pass mark for me,yet i love Stevie as a solo artist....go figure that one out??!!!??

Much, much better album than Rumours. Their best work. But my favourite tracks from any FM member remain 'Storms' & 'Sara' from Tusk.
