Radiohead's "OK Computer"
I know I am actually very late to the Radiohead party, but I discovered them a couple months ago and decided to give them some more listening, and man do I enjoy them. I don't really know how this rating system works, but I would give the album a score of 9/10

JEFF BUCKLEY "my sweetheart the drunk" cd,1998.
this one was recorded just weeks prior to his unfortunate death in the Mississippi river in 1997...
and i guess premature death elevated him to 'legend' status and bought him from 'cult' singer to the mainstream...
i like this album of twenty one tracks(well, nineteen really as two of them have alternative versions on here)...
throughout the listening process i couldnt help but think that had Cobain still been around he may have mellowed and sounding like this nowadays...its not grungy at all but it has a distinct Nirvana 'in their quieter moments' feel happening here...
touches of White Stripes on "your flesh is so nice"...the final track is a cover of "satisfied mind", this recorded version was played at his funeral so i guess it has a bit of meaning there for real Buckley fans
i do think buckley is a good artist and probably could have and would have improved had he still been alive...but to be called a legend because he died young...i think not!

VARIOUS ARTISTS "15 tracks in the key of neil" cd,2009
this is another cd hat was free with the UK music magazine "uncut"...
they give a cd away free with the magazine every month...some i get, most i dont, only getting those i may have interest in..
title of this one is "long may you run:15 tracks in the key of neil"...cant quite recall why they called it that really, maybe the magazine had a Neil Young special that month, anyway,
these fifteen tracks, apart from the Gaslight Anthem one were totally unknown to me,as were the artists on it..
i guess they got the Neil thing from the fact that most of these are quite folky and acoustic...
as with these sorts of cds, if i like half the tracks i think ive done well that time round...and this one is a good one...
take a listen to some tracks and you may discover an artist you never heard before also...

from my library (vinyl)
The bands fourth album, and the first to hit the chart here. The last album with the groups
original lineup, as guitarist Bob Stinson was given the boot. Much critical acclaim came with
this one with a perfect score from allmusic. Chart placement of #183 did not match that. Guest
spot from Alex Chilton (Box Tops, Big Star) on Left Of The Dial. First tv appearance for the
band, on SNL from which they were banned after cursing on the show. A badge of honor no doubt.
Three love tracks for me on this with two bombs. No mention of any singles which has to be an
oversight. The move to a major label had to include singles.

just did a bit of research and "bastards of young" and "kiss me on the bus" were released as singles but as far as i can ascertain they never made the charts on either US,UK or here in Australia....
the above info comes from Wikipedia, the band's discography page

ELVIS COSTELLO "when i was cruel" cd,2002.
another very good Elvis album....
probably his most Elvis sounding album since the early 1980s IMO....
lots of his trademark Attractions sounds here, but modernised for the zero decade...
as usual his lyrics are superb, IMO as a lyricist he is second only to Bob Dylan, both artists make you sit back and think and both also have little twists in their songs, and both write lines that could have two or more meanings to them...depending on how you(the listener) wants to take them...
not his best album, but certainly not his worst neither, a good solid collection of tracks from a guy into his fourth decade int he music business(70s,80s,90s,00s)
