Weird. I wonder why Greenday - Dookie is back in the charts.

started a world tour back in march, running through august
not sure why that would cause that for just Dookie
if other GD albums show up, that could be it

always interesting when old albums come back on

It's due to the massive popularity of the concert and world tours, Trace ! YouTube has tons of Green Day Live footage ...all the crowds are huge ! That translates to people old and new to GD to buy their music....I think Dookie was their best studio effort ? I know myself personally, after seeing a band or artist live I have an immediate urge to buy or revisit their music .
I really love their live album Awesome as **** ...just plain old rock and lots of fun !!!!

i cant imagine anything worse than a Pink Floyd 'best of' set....it would not work IMO as their albums are conceptual and it would just sound like bits and pieces, not an album, which would not do their music justice....and i dont consider myself a fan(but i'd rather listen to a whole album...)

i guess thats how all those older artists make their money later in their careers....re-issues/re-entries of their early albums....

as an example, i read somewhere recently that Meatloaf still sells around 100,000 copies of Bat Out Of Hell worldwide annually....so if thats the case, how many albums do someone like The Beatles sell annually?????,my guess.....several million(and im sure that goes up when Macca tours(plus his solo stuff like Band On The Run etc etc)...

again, back to Macca....i remember around twenty years ago that i saw a doco on him and it is estimated then that he made $1700 per minute from royalties from airplay alone....astronomical,mind boggling stuff!

the first top four albums are all debut entries...thats gotta be pretty unusual hasnt it?

i have Kanye's "my beautiful dark twisted fantasy" album, i like it a lot,but i dont like anything else he has done...

Creedence Clearwater Revisited (#173)..."extended versions", is that a stupid remix album or an album of full versions of songs that were edited back to fit on original albums back in the day?????
