no I haven't
one of those bands where their album would be on my end of year list, ears unheard
probably my favorite current alternative band
and most of their tracks grow on me as well
they have so much going on in the band when they perform

At about :25, Metric's singer/keyboardist dances like one of the kids on The Charlie Brown Christmas. LOL

Metz should call their next release 'Our Drummer Has Epilepsy'

Didn't care for KEN mode. In general, I'm opposed to vocalists that sound like they're trying to cough up phlegm.

I liked Young Galaxy. I might have to investigate these cats.

Ditto Said The Whale. They have a groovy 80s feel.

I would have posted a cut from her new cd, but I haven't had it long enough to get a handle on the overall essence.

I will say this...it's far more upbeat than the last one. That's not saying it's better, just different.

Goodbye Lullaby, as a has a deeply emotional aura.

Anyhow, I'm gonna get this one in on a technicality.

I know she's been around a while, but this album was released two years ago.

Instead of posting a hit, I'm going with this acoustic version of Push.

If you like harmonies, this cut will not disappoint. It's layered so beautifully.

There are 6-7 different things floating in and out.

You know, I have a rule I go by.

Every visit to any music site, I always make it a point to listen to at least one song I've never heard.

Preferably by a band I've never heard before. (or even by a band I've never heard of)

great attitude Salty-guy....

both Music Head and myself(cant speak for others) always try to listen to something new each day, whether its a song or an album online makes no difference...
we've both heard some real shockers, but also we've found some artists that really stand out to us...
i think we can both agree on Great Lake Swimmers...we'd never heard of them until last year, loved their album, then found out theyve released several albums...

i also bought Kasey Chambers and Slim Dusty to his attention and he loves both of them artists now...

he introduced me to Leonard Cohen and George Jones...love both of them now!

thats what forums like this are supposed to do, and its good to see you have the same outlook and approach to music that we do...!!!!

think this album will get a spin later today
assuming it's out there on either Spotify or Grooveshark
love these guys, but I'll admit their tracks take some growin'
it's all the instruments they use
when you listen to a track, focus on 1 thing, then another
that's why it takes multiple plays to sink in
and when it does you have this:
