Probably one of the first bands I got stoned to. Dylan, Doors, Zeppelin, Hendrix. The bands debut album, and music fans woke up. Only got to
crank out 3 albums but they are all must haves. This would have held up much better if they hadn't have weighed it down with the bonus tracks.
Six of those end the album and they are all good tunes. They consist of b-sides and tracks on the UK version, so they are good to have. The
cream is in the original US release of 11 tracks though, with six of those sharing that top honor. First track nails it for me. Only thing I
don't like is the instrumental, I don't care if it is Hendrix. I can't sing to it. Jimi helped coin the word psychadelic with this album. It
reached #3 in the UK and #5 here. We would turn those numbers around with the bands next 2 albums.

Hendrix albums Cry of Love, Electric Lady Land and Band of Gypsies were very good also!

Lee Clayton - The Dream Goes On - a powerful album with social commentary about all sorts of things. 'Industry' has to be the highlight. - http://youtu.be/2H3tXeUwX_Y

THE J GEILS BAND "freeze-frame" vinyl, 1981

album chart action: #1 US, #2 UK, #7 AU.

singles chart action:

"centrefold".............#1 US, #3 UK, #1 AU.
"flamethrower"........#25 US.
"freeze-frame".........# 4 US, #27 UK, #7 AU.
"angel in blue".........#40 US, #55 UK.

J-Geils Band's twelfth album, their biggest seller, and their only #1 US album...
mixed feelings about this album as there are a couple of tracks i simply love, yet, there are three i cannot stand...very inconsistant band IMO, which is probably why i never bought another album of theirs...
now, until i started looking for chart placings for this post i was unaware that "angel in blue" was released as a single, but im not surprised as its the best thing on here....
i used to love "centrefold"...but radio still plays this song a lot and im sort of over it now, i had to give it a like score though because its not bad...
the only other song that could challenge that Angel track for best track is the title track 'freeze-frame'...i still love that one after thirty years...cant wait to check out the video for it on youtube and also for "angel in blue"...
all up, not a bad album, in fact its very good for a band now(then) some fifteen years into their career!

No recording history on this band, this is it folks. Ian Astbury left the Cult to join up with these american dudes to make this album. Ian met
Patrick Sugg when both were attending a Wayne Kramer (MC5) concert in the US. They must have bonded. Not sure why I have this. Never a Cult fan.
Had to have picked up in a discount bin somewhere. Astbury doesn't have great vocals for me. A bit of a psychedelic feel thrown into this 90's
rock. And I don't know if that's good or bad. Nothing I love on here and 3 that fail, giving the album a just passing grade. Seems like was a
single off here but I'm no sure. Does not show a single or this album hitting the charts here. They were working on a follow up to this when
they called it quits. I wouldn't have bought it anyway. Guess those bonds weren't very tight.
