great song IMO....

he died in mysterious circumstances also didnt he?!
a lot of conjecture as to whether he was working undercover for the CIA/Special Op's when he was shot in the West Indies in the 1970s

Barry Maguire did have another minor hit called "Green Green" I believe.

This one is kind of a semi-one-hit-wonder. Status Quo went on in the 70s to become a metal band although I never listened to them and I don't know anyone who did. There might be some SQ lovers out there though that might insist they had more than one hit. This one, however, is the only one everyone familiar with this band will remember.

Stuff like what I posted

I'm not going to express it in words because that will perpetuate the "what constitutes a hit?" argument. A hit is a hit--you either know what i mean or you don't. So look at what i posted and that is a hit. I didn't mention anyone else's posts because they may not want to be dragged into the argument. I'll take all the heat.

I'll cover myself by saying I'm not positive
but, I thought they had quite a few hits in the UK.

They may have. I remember them being fairly popular among the metalheads of the 70s along with groups as April Wine. But I couldn't name a thing they did and most people would only know "Pictures" if they knew the band at all. That's why I say they are kind of a semi-one-hitter.
