listening to the very early kraftwerk I can see where OMD, soft cell ,ultravox ..got their sounds from ..really kraftwerk were a decade ahead of their time

Powerful title track but nothing else comes close to that. Haven't heard any of their other albums but they would have to be in the deep
discount bin for me to pick up. California band formed in 1994. After a couple of self released projects, it asn't until 2000 that Island signed
them, where they have been since then. The first album got them some national notice after a song got picked up for video games. Whatever it
takes I guess. This second album was the big breakthrough with the single The Reason going all the way to #2. The first single Out Of Control
was the primer but only hit the minor charts. With The Reason becoming a worldwide hit, the album followed along, hitting #3 on Billboard. Three
albums since then have failed to come close to that success, with the last one in 2012 only reaching #66. Easy come, easy go.

So much Patti Smith in these tracks. Surprised I don't like it. This is her first album as a solo act. There were two releases prior to this
which are credited to her, but she was part of a trio wih bandmates Rob Ellis and Ian Olliver. This one she takes sole credit even though as
usual it is not a solo album as the term should be used. Well liked by the critics, making Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, so
obviously I'm on the outside here. Best chart showing was in the UK with a #12 and a #40 in the states and it is still her best selling album in
the states. Down By The Water was the best performing single but did not hit the main chart here. Looking back at my post of her most recent
album Let England Shake, I didn't like it much better than this one. So I guess I'm not a PJ Harvey fan and will not be making any other
purchases.

Originally released with the first 11 tracks in 1985, then re-issued with 14 tracks in '86, then again in '95 with 5 more tracks, 4 of which are
outtakes of the same tracks on the first release. I did not even listen to those last 5. I hate when they do that shit. This is Robyn's fourth
album and his first with the lineup of the Egyptians. The album is a departure from his previous mostly acoustic efforts as a solo act. Also the
folk side was beginning to branch into more of an alternative style. Two love tracks for me but offset by four that are just too weird. Not sure
what singles were released as none charted here, nor did the album. I think Robyn had more success in the UK than he ever did here.

Finally got around to this eighth album from the band. Like The Carpenter it will have to grow on me and I'm sure it will. Only one track I can say I loved on a first listen. But there were a few more on the edge and there was nothing I didn't like so I'm sure just a few more spins is all it would take. A few more instruments have creeped into the bands work and I don't think that's a good thing. As long as they don't go electronic on me I will love this band. They have stuck with Rick Rubin as producer and the songs here were recorded during the same sessions as The Carpenter. So if you liked that one there is no reason you shouldn't like this one. Another Is Waiting is the only single listed and I don't see where it charted here. The album debuted at #5 showing the band has built a following. No clip for my only love track.
