----------Recover Your Soul (#55 US, #16, UK, #39 Canada)
----------If The River Can Bend (#32 UK)

A step down on the spiral staircase. Only 1 love track on this one, with 3 failing. This was my last Eleon album prior to his most recent
release, which CH convinced me to spring for. That one's coming up next. Just realized that will be a 17 year gap that I have not heard a new
Elton John album. The older you get the faster the time goes by. Anyway Elton went back to Chris Thomas producing here after he tried it himself
on the last album. Bernie Taupin says this his least favorite album of all their work together. Elton says that title belongs to Leather
Jackets. Makes me want to go back and compare the two. My copy of Leather Jackets is on vinyl, in a box, in the shed, screaming out to me, play
me, play me. Someday my friend, someday. It doesn't look like the singles from this album had much of a push. Highest charting was in the UK at
#9 and the US was a dismal #55. You can do better than this Elton.

Currently listening to Camel's 'Dust and Dreams' - inspired by John Steinbeck's novel 'The Grapes of Wrath' - a lot quieter than their previous albums but still has some busy bits to it. Quite nice for something different.

Producer: T-Bone Burnett

31st album, #4 US, #3 UK, #26 Australia, #7 Canada
Singles - Home Again (#143 UK)
----------Mexican Vacation

First new Elton album listen in 17 years. His voice seems better than ever. At times it felt like I was listening to Billy Joel. They are rocks
piano men. I get 3 love tracks and 3 I don't like out of this. Adding the 3 different useless short instrumental pieces together to come up with
one of those dislikes. Sad to not see any of Eltons regular band members on here, and T-Bone Burnett picks up production duties. The album seems
more piano heavy that the past few I have listened to. It debuted high on the charts but here in the states dropped off after only an 8 week
run. Has yet to reach gold status and only silver in the UK. Both singles have failed to catch on anywhere. This is a good album and a step up
from The Big Picture. Now I have to fill in that 4 album gap I have.
