Much fuller sound on this album than the bands debut, which was more piano driven than this one. That could be both good and bad. Picked up one more band member since that debut also. One love track but nothing I don't like making this one come out higher than their first. Some tracks on this one gave me a Killers feel. I really should pick up those 2 I am missing from these guys. Even though this album went to #1 in the UK, it didn't sell nearly as well. In fact the sales for each album have declined from the first. They have already made their mark with that Somewhere Only We Know song. They'll never equal that one.

Ryan's ninth solo studio set, but sixteenth studio set of his career...
was originally a member of country band Whiskeytown,then went solo for a short while before joining/forming alt.pop/rock band Cardinals,before once again heading off solo
once again...ive heard nothing by his previous groups, and only a couple of tracks from is solo career other than this album...
album is a mix of alternative,country,alt/folk...some songs have a bit of a Jake Bugg feel to them.
theres nothing bad on here, but likewise, nothing great neither, just a cool mix of likeable 'easy listening' songs to mellow out to!

Very nice debut set from this Vegas band. A little synth heavy at times for me. Signed by a UK label first, the group temporarily moved there.
The buzz made it's way back here in time for this debut which cracked the top 10 and even higher in the only other countries that matter. The
album got a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album, losing out to U2's Atomic Bomb release. I prefer this. Three love tracks and 2 I don't like.
Not sure if it's what he was aiming for but vocalist Brandon Flowers even developed a sex symbol status. I hate it when people lay that burden
on me.
