Dark, Moorish, Gothy music.
What Enya & Jim Morrison's lost dark, moorish, gothy album might sound like...

Lent to me by Rob, my music-hound work colleague.
I've known of this band for ages, but our paths had not yet crossed. Originally a Punk band, but this album is a long way from Punk. Bears a bit of a resemblance to an ex-labelmate band Husker Du.

i'm kinda new to them but i really enjoy them. ... do like them or are you criticing my tastes? not quite sure as many of the people on this site don't really agree with my musical tastes.
i'm listening to warning by green day. ^what a coinsidence.. i think green days new stuff is good, just a little more mainstream. i think they should really try and stay away from this. too many punk bands have gone from fighting the system to becoming the system themselves.

Strange Part of The Country
Alt-Troubadourism that left me a little flat. This album's had very good reviews, but didn't do much for me...

Live at The BBC
One of my favourite Alternative UK guitar bands. Saw them live in their heyday, and they were one of the very best live acts I've seen.
As ever with live albums, they only give you part of the picture, but this one brought back some fond memories.
This band deserved greater recognition...

Celticish, Alt-Folk-Pop from Canadian singer-songwriter.

White Chalk
UK Post-Punk girly goes all Piano-Led-Singer-Songwriter. This is a pretty dark, harrowing album, but brilliantly put together...

Joanna Newsom -
Ys
Dazzling break-through album from harp-wielding Alt. Folkie.
A very pastoral feel runs through this one.

My Bloody Valentine -
Loveless
The album that almost bankrupted Creation Records...
Vocals & normal song structure are buried under layers of processed guitar & keys. This is still an exhilirating record.
The ultimate conclusion of Shoegaze IMHO
