Back to my homeland - this was a popular track many moons ago - based on traditional Zulu rhythms - http://youtu.be/6Ca2uVZuiY0

Here is a very disjointed video, which for me, reminds me of so many places I have been is South Africa - the initial mountain scenes are from my hometown - and then there are others like the Ferryman's pub which I used to frequent - The Green Dolphin Restaurant - just around the corner - a jazz venue. This really takes me back. Don't know who created this but thx anyway. But above all else is one of the most powerful cross-genre pieces you will ever hear. Love this. - the inspiration behind this track is quite a story in itself - http://youtu.be/oEXAABy4uCg

Ms. Shaw may be unheralded now but not for long. New album due out in September, produced by Jim Gaines. Look again at the comments in this YouTube clip (one commenter asked for a stage battle between her and Ana Popovic--love to see that). A wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joanne_Shaw_Taylor and her Website: http://www.joanneshawtaylor.com/ << includes a clip recorded live last year in London. Lotsa folks are pimped as "The Next Big Thing" but she has the chops and stage presence (and it is to be hoped, the capacity for growth) to merit the title. English lass, now living in Detroit (or maybe, Windsor, ON). AMG is pretty hip on her, too--she has strong backers/admirerers: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/joanne-sh.../biography
A man accustomed to hear only the echo of his own sentiments, soon bars all the common avenues of delight, and has no part in the general gratification of mankind--Dr. Johnson
