Didn't know this band had this many albums. Nor did I know this was their eighth. I boarded the train late and got off early. Band was formed in
Arizona in 1980. Started as a punk band but migrated to a more alt sound. Said to have influenced Nirvana and Soundgarden. Surprised they lasted
eight albums with very little success. This is their best selling album reaching gold status. Co-produced with Butthole Surfers guitarist Paul
Leary. If I could come up with any other band this album sounds like, that would be it. Only 1 standout for me on here, the country hoedown
flavored Comin' Down. The only thing like it on the album.

its different, i havent heard anything else like it...cudo's to the guys for not following trends etc...

Meat Puppets...i dont like them much,
but Kurt Cobain did sight them as a huge influence on his songwriting.
Nirvana cover one of their songs on their "mtv unplugged" album from meory, but i cannot recall which track it is???

Follow up to their best selling album. Comes out about the same as that one for me. No love tracks though, and 3 I do not like. Quite a
downgrade from Allmusic from 4.0 to 2.0. Looks like 2 of the 3 dudes left after this album so not sure what they morphed into. Don't know that
I've heard anything since this album, but it shows 5 releases since. Would have to be in a discount bin for me to pick anything else up.
Just figured out who else these guys sound like, Dinosaur Jr.

3rd studio album - #120 US

One of those groups I backtracked on after hearing something. Looks like I still need their first two, maybe someday. Group was formed in 1993
in Washington state by the above 3 members. They didn't get much notice until this release which was their first on a major label. Still this
album only charted in the US and has only reached gold status. I don't see that any singles were released which may have been part of the
problem. After receiving much criticism for licensing the song Gravity Rides Everything for a Nissan commercial, member Brock had this to say,
"People who don't play music for a living can criticize my morals while they live off their parents' money or wash dishes for some asshole."
Guess he told them. The album title was taken from the opening scene of Blade Runner. It is supposed to be a concept album that emphasizes space
and the afterlife. I never get any concept album that doesn't tell a story and I didn't get a story out of this. Maybe after you know it, but
liner notes say nothing about this being a concept album. I guess you're supposed to be on the same drugs the writer is at the time he wrote it.
