Don't feel badly for your vinyl, MusicHead--you are doing them and the next owner the best favor you can by not playing them. They get a well-preserved "barn find"--wouldn't you dearly love to come across a '62 Chev/409 in near-mint condition (I promise not to play that Junior Brown rendition again)--and you get the music (on CD) and pride of ownership (having bought the vinyl new in the first place)--next owners get bragging rights. Win-win, the way I see it.

Parker got dumped by his RCA label after this non-performer. The downward slide had begun with the previous release. Capitol picked him up for 1 album after this but
then he was dropped by them. Independents since then and his last one was in 2010. This is his last one that I own. Not a bad album with 2 love tracks and nothing I
don't like. It doesn't show any singles released from this. Not that it would have mattered. Graham was never a singles guy. Nice guest artists on here with John
Sebastian, Garth Hudson and Pete Thomas. Surprised we don't have a UK chart placement on this album. Thought he was more popular there.

Had forgotten how good this one is. Five love tracks for me which is rare on a studio album. Twin brothers Charlie and Craig Reid popped up out of Scotland in 1988
with a surprise hit single from this album, I'm Gonna Be, better known as 500 Miles but the title on my album is the former. Hadn't heard better harmonies by a duo since
the Everly's when this came out. S&G don't count, in their own league. The Proclaimers are considered a 1 hit wonder here. Another one where the public was out of
tune. The just didn't fit the rockstar image, being all clean cut. But damn they had some good music. Didn't know the Housemartins had a hand in discovering the
brothers, hyped their demo I guess.

fantastic album MH....
proves there was more to these goofy looking twin Scots than the two overly poppy singles...
a couple of years after this album was released they scored a UK #1 hit with a cover of "king of the road"

Unfortunately, C-H, your link is blocked in the US. Found another though, replete with a Duh! vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAZNhftw8bI << Typical of Americans, I was charmed by the accents.

Reach the Beach by The Fixx. Haven't listened to this album in a long, long time. It's great 'new wave' - or what was new wave at the time! Good songs - good album, IMO.

Near as good as that last one which was their best selling. Surprising low score from allmusic. The album and singles only charted in the UK as have the albums since
then. This is the last album I have from them but I should have followed up seeing how much I liked the 2 that I have. It was a 6 year wait between the 2 albums which
could have been a factor in the sales. By that time nobody would have remembered who they were. Guess they didn't see that as it would be seven years before the next
one.

When I saw Otis Redding's emotionally-drenched classic, "These Arms of Mine" on that Proclaimers CD, I immediately reached for the cans. Very tasty, with a Country-ish feel. Michael Grimm and Tab Benoit kill on this song too (I'll spare you the links).

I guess somebody had to carry on the Seattle grunge thing. These guys were as good as any at the time. Not so great now but I like it. Perfect score from the allmusic
people. This is their debut and the fans of the genre ate it up. Eddie Vedder had a soon to be remembered name and Soundgarden had some competition. This album
remains the bands best selling going 13X platinum.
