Probably belongs in the rock forum, but I heard his song Pride and Joy today and absolutely fell in love.
I put this here because I mostly loved the blues element in it.
So, what would you recommend as his best album to get if you're just getting into him?
And do you have any other jazz/blues artists I could listen to that I might like?
Thanks.
You're gonna go far, Kid.

Texas Flood is the big seller (& it's home to Pride & Joy), I believe, but I prefer Couldn't Stand The Weather, as it contains my favourite SRV track - the blinding instrumental Scuttle Buttin'...

As Tigger suggests, those two albums are great although my favourites were his last two;
Family Style (with his elder brother Jimmie Vaughan)
In Step
Both were released posthumously in 1990 and both have some great stuff on them. They were also the first two recordings he'd made where he was (apparently) substance-free. Or so I have heard.
As far as others, there are many you could check out, dependent upon your tastes in either genre. Effectively, just how 'out there' do you like your Jazz and just how 'bluesy, or rocky' do you like your Blues?

Set up a station on Pandora based on the Black Keys...Or perhaps Stevie Ray or Hendrix, if you choose.
If it worked the way it did for me, it will give you a nice mix of old and new, most notably some Hendrix stuff that goes way beyond his usual hits, ditto for Zeppelin, some laid-back, old-school blues stuff I've never heard of, more modern blues-based stuff like the Black Keys (of course), and the bluesy side of the White Stripes.

I'm afraid that none of those mentioned have anything to do with "old-school blues stuff", nor do they have anything to do with jazz.
Yes, both SRV and Hendrix and even Zeppelin plated a lot of "blue-based stuff" even played some actual blues per se. I believe that the Black Keys may also have but how do you even consider offering the White Stripes as a blues/jazz band? :confused:

Am I on Candid Camera?
Pretty much everything you just said shows an inaccurate reading of my comment. I don't know where to start, and probably shouldn't anyway, in case you're trolling for an argument.
Try setting up that station on Pandora and see what I mean, or don't...

First up, I'm not trolling for an argument. Second, I have no intention of "setting up that station on Pandora" so, just leave it at that!
