i must admit i admisre his "all star band" shows for the same reason Jazzy....
he brings a lot of forgotten artists together to showcase their usually small but impressive back catalogue....
therefore,
i see those shows as 'not being about Ringo', but about "good music in general.
i also like the way he usually has two drummers on stage...
one who plays the drums as a drummer should, and himslef who basically/simply "keeps the timing"....
you can really see the look of enjoyment on Ringo's face as other artists take the limelight and perform "their" songs.
His "all star-band" toured here last year, and got rave reviews for the intimacy of the shows,the showcasing of so-called forgotten talent and for the casual lighthearted 'feel' of the gigs.
i really regret now going to the gig here in Perth now.

Regrettably, I don't see AustralAsia on this year's tour but keep you fingers crossed for 2016. His bandmates say it's some of the best, most stress-free touring they've ever done. It shows in the DVDs.

I truly believe that Mr. Starkey did a heck of a lot more on the drums with The Beatles than keeping time!!!!...lol...Drummers and musicians I have talked to have said otherwise,,,a very good drummer...he never did the usual 10 minute solo so a lot of folks diminish his drumming! i was refering to his "all star band" SteveO...
to which even Ringo admits all he does is keep time because he only wants to be out there to have fun and listen to the guest artists in "the all star band"
