DAVID BOWIE "outside" cd, 1995
career stats:

"hallo space boy".................#12 UK...#36 AU
Mr. Bowie's nineteenth studio album....
first one with Brian Eno twiddling the knobs since 1979's "lodger".....
a concept album....
concept is about a dystopian society at the end of the twentieth century and the government of the
day has created an "art crime" bureau to combat artistic freedom...
songs are very similar sounding musically, Bowie sings most of them but there are a couple of spoken word
pieces with musical background....
as with 99% of concept albums the songs have no life of their own outside of the concept they were conceived in.
not a bad album, very ambitious of Bowie to put out something like this at that stage of his career...
Bowie has said since that this album is too long and should have been released as two album releases...
