Mr.Bowie's sixth studio album...
lots of Glam Rock on this one and I love the UK Glam Rock sound of the 1970s...
trivia:
album was originally titled "love Aladdin vein" but the label vetoed the title because it had too many
drug connotations, so Bowie then came up with "a lad insane" because that's how people viewed him,
his music and his image back then but eventually settling on the current title.
one cover on here, a Stones one in "lets spend the night together", was never a fan of the original so
it was always doubtful i'd like this cover...
normally you'd look at the track list and think "jean genie" would be the best track, but theres several on here
to rival that one which shows the quality of the guy's material back then,
best for me is the slow burner "the prettiest star" which would without a doubt be in my top five Bowie tracks of all time,
how this was never issued as a single I will never know...
and finally, a Bowie album that rivals 1979's "lodger" for me as his best album!
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
worst track: lets spend the night together
best track: the prettiest star
