Music Head Wrote:from the cd roomA trivium: the first ever commercial recording of a Bob Lind song was by the Turtles. It was called "(Nobody Smokes Marijuana) Down in Suburbia". this was a little controversial at the time, and The turtles dropped the reference to maryjane and just called it "Down In Suburbia."
loved these guys
the hits anyway
if this Rhino compilation is any indication
their albums had a lot of filler
about half of these 20 are worth having
Also (you probably knoew this already), two of the Turtles, the guys who nickname themselves Flo and Eddie, ended up as session backing vocalists and worked with, of all people, Frank Zappa, among others.
