Australian charts for week ending 10th September 2016:

A fifth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for ‘Closer’ gives The Chainsmokers the third longest run in the top spot for 2016. It sits behind Lukas Graham’s ‘7 Years’ (eight weeks) and Drake’s ‘One Dance’ (seven weeks).
After debuting at #45, then jumping to #10 last week, Calum Scott’s debut single ‘Dancing On My Own’ has climbed another seven spots to #3 to hit the top three for the first time.
Moving up 29 spots from last week’s debut at #36, ‘Side By Side’ becomes Ariana Grande’s fourth top ten as a lead artist on the ARIA Singles Chart. The American artist has previously hit the top ten with ‘Problem’ (#2 May ’14), ‘Break Free’ (#3 Jul. ’14) and ‘Focus’ (#10 Nov. ’15).
Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Starving’ has jumped 15 spots to #9, giving Steinfeld a first top ten.
There are also new peaks for Tove Lo’s ‘Cool Girl’ (#30) and DNCE’s ‘Toothbrush’ (#37).
Debuts:
#15: The Black Eyed Peas Feat. The World ‘#Wheresthelove’ – The Black Eyed Peas make their return to the Singles Chart for the first time since 2011 with a re-working of their first ARIA Charts #1. The new version features vocals from a plethora of artists and celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jamie Foxx, The Game, Mary J. Blige, Jessie J, Nicole Scherzinger, Diddy, DJ Khaled, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Jaden Smith, ASAP Rocky, Vanessa Hudgens, Snoop Dogg, Connie Britton and LL Cool J. The original version of ‘Where Is The Love?’ spent six weeks at #1 between August and October in 2003. The group last charted with ‘Don’t Stop The Party’ (#16 Jun. ’11).
#25: Sia Feat. Kendrick Lamar ‘The Greatest’ – Sia picks up her second top 50 entry for 2016 with ‘The Greatest’. It’s the first single released from the ARIA winner’s forthcoming eighth studio album We Are Your Children and features a verse from rapper Kendrick Lamar. Sia peaked at #6 in April with ‘Cheap Thrills’, her first US #1.
#32: Zara Larsson ‘Ain't My Fault’ – A third top 50 single for Swede Zara Larsson. ‘Ain’t My Fault’ follows on from ‘Never Forget You’ (#3 Nov. ’15) and ‘Lush Life’ (#4 Jan. ’16).
#43: Passenger ‘Anywhere’ – British singer-songwriter Passenger returns to the top 50 for the first time since 2014 with ‘Anywhere’. It’s the first single to chart from his forthcoming seventh album Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea. Passenger last charted with ‘Hearts On Fire’ (#25 May ’14).
#50: Cheat Codes & Dante Klein ‘Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)’ – The second entry on the chart in 2016 for American electronic band Cheat Codes. The follow-up to ‘Sex’ (#17 Jun. ’16) features Dutch DJ Dante Klein.

There’s another new #1 at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week, with American metalcore band A Day To Remember debuting in the top spot with sixth album Bad Vibrations (see below).
Adele’s 25 has jumped from #10 to #4. It’s the former #1’s 38th week in the top five.
Post-Father’s Day, there’s new peaks this week for Roy & HG’s This Sporting Life (#6) and John Williamson’s His Favourite Collection (#9).
Debuts:
#1: A Day To Remember ‘Bad Vibrations’ – With their sixth album, American metalcore band A Day To Remember snare their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The follow-up to Common Courtesy (#11 Dec. ’13), Bad Vibrations is the band’s third album to hit the ARIA top 50 and their first top ten. A Day To Remember will be touring Australia in support of the album in December.
#5: Big Scary ‘Animal’ – Melbourne duo Big Scary return with Animal. Their third album is the follow-up to Not Art (#32 Jul. ’13) and is their first top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. In between Big Scary albums, Tom Iansek released the album About Face (#80 Aug. ’14) under the name #1 Dads.
#10: Travis Scott ‘Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight’ – Travis Scott makes his Albums Chart debut with Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. It’s the American rapper/producer’s second album and features appearances from James Blake, Young Thug, Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000 and The Weeknd, among others.
#28: James Vincent McMorrow ‘We Move’ – The third album from Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow. We Move is McMorrow’s second album to chart in Australia, following on from Post Tropical (#25 Jan. ’14).
#29: Angel Olsen ‘My Woman’ – American singer-songwriter Angel Olsen makes her Albums Chart debut with third album My Woman. Olsen previously released the albums Half Way Home in 2012 and Burn Your Fire For No Witness in 2014.
#35: Jamie T ‘Trick’ – Trick is the fourth studio album from British indie artist Jamie T. The follow-up to Carry On The Grudge (#35 Oct. ’14) becomes the singer-songwriter’s third top 50 appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart. His highest peak was with Kings & Queens (#17 Sept. ’09).
#49: Felix Riebl ‘Paper Doors’ – Cat Empire front man Felix Riebl goes solo again with Paper Doors. It’s Riebl’s third solo outing, following the 2010 album Into The Rain and last year’s EP Lonely Truths and the first to hit the ARIA top 50. The Cat Empire topped the Albums Chart earlier in the year with Rising With The Sun (#1 Mar. ’16), their second #1.
