Another one I forgot about - Queen Hatshepsut's temple - one of the most stunning pieces of architecture I have ever seen. http://www.gettyimages.ie/detail/photo/h.../558009895
And a fascinating place - The Valley of the Kings - http://www.gettyimages.ie/detail/photo/p.../128918889
All the entrances you see are the start of the passages that lead to the burial chambers - they start digging the tunnels when the king is crowned and they stop when he dies. And every inch of the tunnels are decorated inside - a monumental amount of work.
And the workmanship on this statue is nothing short of brilliant - this is in Memphis, near the pyramids - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memphis,_E...Egypt..jpg
