Hell, maybe I am one of those people the queen is talking about but there is no way I am ever going to listen to Beyonce, Nicki Minaj or Ariana Grande simply because there music is too formulaic. It's just plain boring and predictable to me. So what if people don't listen to mainstream - it's their choice. Maybe they just like different things as opposed to the disposable pop that dominates the charts these days. And the worst thing about these artists is the bland, unimaginative lyrics - I bought an album by a girl in her teens recently and she has the most inspired lyrics I have heard in years. She actually thinks about the song structure and writes intelligent, emotive lyrics that really make you think instead of the absolute drivel that the mainstream artists are producing. Far as I am concerned, she should be in the charts instead of the 'posers'. Music has to breathe and the mainstream artists have sucked all the life out of it. Occasionally a 'mainstream' artist comes along that has real talent, but they are few and far between. Each to their own I guess??? No, I don't like mainstream, and no, it does not fit my tastes - pure and simple. There are better things to discover and explore.
