Sorry for such a stupid question and my bad English.
Suppose,we could arrange all music by its âqualityâ, influence on people,etc. Suppose, there are some music compositions which are better thanthe others, some are really bad, some are good. Suppose, this doesnot depend on the popularity of the music composition.
Isthere any research that confirms that most of âreally goodâmusic compositions are a (very?) little known? That confirms thatmost of well-known music compositions are pretty âbadâ? (Iused a word âwell-knownâ. I donât know, can I say âpopularâ,I think itâs confusing because of the genre âpop-musicâ)
If there is some research that confirms that,should âreally goodâ bands stay unknown in the future? Will theirmusic be worse if they will become well-known (mainstream)?
PS.I donât relate this question to popular pieces of classical music.
