i'll start the thread off with a fairly simple one:
THE JAM (not a name change as such but how Paul Weller chose the name in the first place)
so, young fourteen year old Weller have got his band together, they had started playing in "workingman clubs" around Surrey England,
and they hadn't got a name yet,
Weller was sitting round the table eating breakfast with his sister and parents and was trying to think of a name for the band when his sister
who was buttering toast said "we've had bands called Marmalade and Bread so how about Jam", and the rest is history!
