Sorry to be the bearer of melancholy tidings, but if this info is correct, 594 musicians have died this year who were active across a range of genres, whether well-known or not. http://weheartmusic.typepad.com/blog/mus...-2016.html. I suppose it's a mere drop in the ocean compared to mortality rates in general, just that some of these people touched us deeply and have left a lasting impression, and that is why we mourn them specifically ... because we felt we knew them.
