One Direction member Harry Styles has knocked off Ed Sheeran from the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with his debut solo release ‘Sign Of The Times’. Styles becomes the second One Direction member to have a solo #1, following Zayn’s ‘Pillowtalk’ (#1 Feb. ’16).
In its fourth week in the top 50, Clean Bandit’s ‘Symphony’ moves up five spots to #9, hitting the top ten for the first time. The track becomes the British trio’s third top ten single.
After debuting at #50 last week, Sydney artist Dean Lewis jumps 25 spots to #25 with his debut single ‘Waves’.
This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Future’s ‘Mask Off’ (#20) and ‘Selfish’ (#37), Calvin Harris’ ‘Heatstroke’ (#23), Jason Derulo’s ‘Swalla’ (#29) and Martin Jensen’s ‘Solo Dance’ (#40),
Debuts:
#1: Harry Styles ‘Sign Of The Times’ – The debut solo single from Harry Styles gives the One Direction member his second career #1 on the ARIA Charts. ‘Sign Of The Times’ is Styles’ first chart appearance since One Direction’s ‘History’ (#25 Feb. ’16). His first #1 single was with the One Direction hit ‘Drag Me Down’ (#1 Aug. ’15).
#21: Halsey ‘Now Or Never’ – American singer-songwriter Halsey picks up her first appearance in the ARIA top 50 as a lead artist with ‘Now Or Never’. The track is the first single released from Halsey’s forthcoming second album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, due in June. She previously topped the Singles Chart as featured artist on The Chainsmokers’ ‘Closer’ (#1 Aug. ’16).
#42: Kyle ‘iSpy’ – The top 50 debut from LA rapper Kyle. ‘iSpy’, which features fellow rapper Lil Yachty, is currently sitting in the top ten in the US at #4.

He may have dropped from #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart but Ed Sheeran maintains the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a sixth consecutive week with ÷.
As well as twelve debuts, this week’s chart includes significant moves up from Taylor Swift’s 1989 (up 13 to #27), Remembrance (up 19 to #29), Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (up seven to #35) and Justin Bieber’s Purpose (up seven to #37).
Debuts:
#2: Tina Arena ‘Tina Arena (Greatest Hits & Interpretations)’ – A double disc retrospective from 2015 ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Tina Arena. The first disc features highlights from Arena’s career from Singles Chart debut ‘I Need Your Body’ (#3 Jun. ’90), through to most recent album Eleven (#2 Nov. ’15). The second disc features reinterpretations of songs from Arena’s back catalogue by the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Katie Noonan, Kate-Miller Heidke and Dannii Minogue, as well as Arena’s 2015 ARIA Awards performance of ‘Chains’ with Jessica Mauboy and The Veronicas (#14 Dec. ’15).
#3: The Smith Street Band ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me’ – With their fourth studio album, Melbourne group The Smith Street Band pick up their first top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me is the follow-up to the band’s first top 50 album Throw Me In The River (#18 Nov. ’14).
#4: The Chainsmokers ‘Memories...Do Not Open’ – American EDM act The Chainsmokers make their ARIA Albums Chart debut with Memories...Do Not Open. The duo’s debut album includes the singles ‘Paris’ (#4 Jan. ’17), the Coldplay collaboration ‘Something Just Like This’ (#2 Mar. ’17) and ‘The One’ (#36 Apr. ’17).
#10: Pentatonix ‘PTX, Vol. 4’ – A new EP from Pentatonix gives the American a cappella group their second top ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. The seven track release features the quintet’s takes on tracks by the likes of Queen, John Lennon and A-ha, as well as a cover of ‘Jolene’ featuring Dolly Parton. Their self-titled fourth album remains their highest peak (#5 Oct. ’15).
#14: Father John Misty ‘Pure Comedy’ – Pure Comedy is American singer-songwriter Josh Tillman’s third album under the pseudonym Father John Misty. It comes two years on from I Love You, Honeybear (#38 Feb. ’15) and is Tillman’s second appearance in the ARIA top 50.
#15: Bethel Music ‘Starlight (Live)’ – American worship group Bethel music score their fourth top 50 entry in four years with Starlight (Live). The album comes a year on from Have It All (Live) (#8 Mar. ’16) and was recorded while the group was on tour in the US.
#16: Falling In Reverse ‘Coming Home’ – The fourth album from American rock band Falling In Reverse. The follow-up to Just Like You (#8 Mar. ’15) is also the group’s fourth album to chart in the ARIA top 50.
#19: Joey Bada$$ ‘All-AmerikkkanBada$$’ – Album two from American rapper Joey Bada$$. All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ comes just over two years on from B4.DA.$$ (#17 Jan. ’15) and features appearances by Schoolboy Q, J Cole, Chronixx and more.
#20: Deep Purple ‘Infinite’ – Hard rock legends Deep Purple return to the ARIA top 50 for the first time since 1999 with Infinite. The band’s twentieth studio album is the follow-up to 2013’s Now What?! and includes a cover of The Doors’ ‘Roadhouse Blues’. Deep Purple’s last top 50 appearance was with 30: Very Best Of (#41 Apr. ’99).
#25: Rachael Leahcar ‘Shadows’ – Studio album four from former Voice contestant Rachael Leahcar. Shadows comes three years on from Here Comes The Sun (#38 Apr. ’14) is also her fourth album to chart in the ARIA top 50.
#34: The Ten Tenors ‘Wish You Were Here’ – The eighth top 50 entry on the ARIA Albums Chart for vocal ensemble The Ten Tenors. Wish You Were Here pays tribute to sadly-departed artists including David Bowie, Prince, John Lennon, Amy Winehouse and Jon English. The group last charted with Our Christmas Wish (#16 Nov. ’15).
#46: Deez Nuts ‘Binge & Purgatory’ – Melbourne hardcore band Deez Nuts score their fourth entry in the ARIA top 50 with Binge & Purgatory. The band’s fifth studio album is the follow-up to Word Is Bond (#20 May ’15).
