Climbing one spot from last week, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ has hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. It achieves the feat in its fourth week in the top 50 and becomes the first #1 performed predominantly in a language other than English since Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ (#1 Oct. ’12), plus the first #1 performed predominately in Spanish since Las Ketchup’s ‘The Ketchup Song (Asereje)’ (#1 Oct. ’02).
In the week that Harry Styles’ self-titled album debuts at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, his debut single moves back up five spots on the chart to #4. Another track from Harry Styles, ‘Sweet Creature’, debuts this week at #42 (see below).
‘Waves’, the debut single from Sydney singer-songwriter Dean Lewis picks up a new peak at #12 in its seventh week in the top 50. The move up three spots for ‘Waves’ comes on the back of the release of Lewis’ debut EP, Same Kind Of Different, which has debuted on this week’s Albums Chart at #27.
Also on this week’s chart, there are new peaks for Future’s ‘Mask Off’ (#19), Cheat Codes’ ‘No Promises’ (#27), Charlie Puth’s ‘Attention’ (#30) and Post Malone’s ‘Congratulations’ (#37).
Debuts:
#3: Miley Cyrus ‘Malibu’ – More than three years after her last single, Miley Cyrus returns to the ARIA Charts with ‘Malibu’. The single comes from Cyrus’ forthcoming sixth studio album and is her fifth top ten in Australia. Cyrus last charted with ‘Adore You’ (#25 Feb. ’14).
#40: Calvin Harris Feat. Future & Khalid ‘Rollin’ – Calvin Harris claims his third Singles Chart entry for 2017 with ‘Rollin’. Like ‘Slide’ (#11 Apr. ’17) and ‘Heatstroke’ (#23 Apr. ’17), the new track comes from Harris’ forthcoming fifth album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. It features appearances by rapper Future and R&B singer-songwriter Khalid.
#42: Harry Styles ‘Sweet Creature’ – The second solo track to chart in the top 50 for former One Direction member Harry Style. Like ‘Sign Of The Times’ (#1 Apr. ’17), ‘Sweet Creature’ comes from Styles’ self-titled debut album, which has debuted at #1 this week.

There’s a new #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week with former One Direction member Harry Styles debuting in the top spot with his self-titled debut album (see below).
Further down the chart, Ed Sheeran’s X has moved up from #10 to #6 and + has moved up from #19 to #14 as his national tour goes on sale.
Eurovision Song Contest 2017 Kyiv returns to the top 50 for a second week and hits a new peak at #15, following the competition last weekend. The album includes the winning song, ‘Amar Pelos Dois’ by Portugese artist Salvador Sobral, as well as ‘Don’t Come Easy’ by Australian entrant Isaiah.
Other moves up the chart come this week from The Ten Tenors’ Wish You Were Here (up eight to #16), the Sing soundtrack (up 14 to #22) and James Blunt’s The Afterlove (up eight to #26).
Debuts:
#1: Harry Styles ‘Harry Styles’ – After topping the ARIA Singles Chart last month with ‘Sign Of The Times’ (#1 Apr. ’17), Harry Styles scores his first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with his self-titled debut album. Harry Styles becomes the second album by a former One Direction member to top the Albums Chart, following on from Zayn Malik’s Mind Of Mine (#1 Apr. ’16).
#3: Paramore ‘After Laughter’ – American band Paramore return with their fifth studio album, After Laughter. It’s the Tennessee band’s first album since their self-titled fourth album (#1 Apr. ’13) four years ago. They also previously hit #1 with Brand New Eyes (#1 Oct. ’09).
#8: Zac Brown Band ‘Welcome Home’ – With their fifth album, American country group the Zac Brown Band score a second top ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. Welcome Home is the follow-up to Jekyll + Hyde (#6 May ’15). The track ‘Start Over’ features a co-write by Pharrell Williams.
#17: Dead Letter Circus ‘The Endless Mile’ – To celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut self-titled EP, Brisbane band Dead Letter Circus release The Endless Mile. The album features re-workings of all of the EP’s six tracks, as well as re-interpretations of five tracks from the group’s three #2 albums: This Is The Warning (#2 May ’10), The Catalyst Fire (#2 Aug. ’13) and Aesthesis (#2 Aug. ’15).
#27: Dean Lewis ‘Same Kind Of Different’ – Sydney singer-songwriter Dean Lewis picks up his debut appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart with Same Kind Of Different. The six track EP includes Lewis’ debut single ‘Waves’, which this week hits a new peak at #12.
#29: Seether ‘Poison The Parish’ – The seventh studio album from Seether gives the South African band their fifth entry in the ARIA top 50 and highest peak to date. Poison The Parish is the follow-up to Isolate And Medicate (#43 Jul. ’14). Their previous best was with Disclaimer II (#38 Aug. ’04).
#37: Machine Gun Kelly ‘Bloom’ – American rapper Machine Gun Kelly returns with third album Bloom. It’s his second top 50 album, following General Admission (#38 Oct. ’15). Bloom includes guest appearances from James Arthur, Hailee Steinfeld, Ty Dolla $ign and more.
#38: Midnight Oil ‘The Full Tank’ – ARIA Hall Of Fame members Midnight Oil release the career-encompassing box set The Full Tank. The pack features all of the band’s eleven studio albums, including the #1 albums Red Sails In The Sunset (#1 Nov. ’84), Diesel And Dust (#1 Aug. ’87) and Blue Sky Mining (#1 Mar. 90). It also includes Midnight Oil’s first two EPs, Bird Noises (1980) and Species Deceases (#1 Dec. ’85). The set’s release coincides with the band’s reformation and world tour.
