I can tell you a few things about Hot Chocolate...............They were discovered by John Lennon and signed to Apple records in 1969 initially as The Hot Chocolate Band. There were an interesting band because they crossed the race barriers which in those days was a very difficult issue. There early music had a passing influence of Reggae but this faded with time. There were unusual in that for many years they concentrated on making only singles ........only in their mid career did they release an album and then they were not very comfortable with the idea . As far as I know their career ran from 1969 until 1983/4.
