IAN HUNTER "ian hunter" cd, 1975:
got this one delivered in the mail yesterday...
already own a couple of Mott The Hoople albums and a compilation
of theirs also, love them so I knew what to expect here....
first up listen...
his debut solo set...
some raunchy rock and roll...
a couple of ballads...
and something, which at times has Bowie written all over it in "boy"....
Mick Ronson plays lead guitar here...
he has such a distinctive style that its just so obvious when he is involved in a project...
album peaked at #21 UK, #36 AU and #50 US...
"once bitten twice shy" made it to #14 UK and #29 AU...
"who do you love" #83 AU...
when an album rates this high I try to look for faults that bring the score down...
on most occasions I can find reasons but with this album, no such luck...
one of the greatest albums of the rock era IMO
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
sorry, no best track here, love 'em just all about equally but i'll go with "boy" on this occasion
