Have not listened to this album in forever. Still holds up IMHO - 45 years later! Mainly covers, Clapton alone wrote two tracks on the album ("Give Me Strength" and "Let it Grow", co-wrote another, "Get Ready", and then reinvented/rearranged other people's stuff plus one trad. His second album, put together after a three year haze involving nasty substances. Does anyone not own a copy of this??
Today, my picks are "Please Be With Me" ... beautiful song written by Charles Scott Boyer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wql_WN7zgc
"Let it Grow" which is a perennial favourite ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXDf9UwHGF4
... and the superbly funky groove of "Get Ready", co-written with Yvonne Elliman who also sings on it ...
