^Some friends from many moons ago had that one. I am well acquainted with it - got played a lot, but every second track, if I recall correctly, which I may not!
Making my way through Joan Armatrading’s catalogue – primarily due to hearing her played on the radio quite a bit lately – it’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. She’s an amazing artist – nothing like her out there – a true original, IMHO. Being a non-systematic kinda person, I’ve listened to Me, Myself, I, The Shouting Stage, Whatever’s For Us and Joan Armatrading so far, in that order. I have some of her albums, and there are perennial favourites, but I haven’t listened to everything, by any means, and there’s a fair body of work. She almost always has some choice contributors on her albums – guess who does an unmistakeable and sterling job on two numbers on The Shouting Stage?? Lol!
Some of my favourite tracks thus far (which in no way diminishes many others) would include ….
“Friends” – a drummer of Capetonian origin on this album – Anton Fig … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5GjHKIFk9Q
Those two tracks with MK … “Did I Make You Up” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5HkFqHnXQ8, and “The Shouting Stage” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On_G5CxHr7A
“Love and Affection” – Jerry Donahue (Fairport Convention, Fotheringay, Hellecasters on acoustic 12 string) … Clarke Peters’ wonderful backing vocals … fab sax Jimmy Lewell -
Next up ... Sleight of Hand which I don't think I've ever listened to before ...
