Deezer listen:
40th anniversary edition of the album.
2 disks, 1st disk is the remastered 'combat rock' album, the second disk, previously unreleased tracks and b-sides...
only listening to the second disk on this occasion...
track 1: "future bonds", a spoken word avant-garde track.
track 2: "this is radio clash", different lyrics and more funkier version of the singles from 1980-ish
track 3: "future 2000", early '80s rap.
track 4: "first night back in london", b-side of the "know your rights" single, a funk based tune.
track 5: "radio one", reggae/dub spoken word track.
track 6: "he who dares or is tired", ska is the closest call for this instrumental
track 7: "long time jerk", b-side of the "rock the casbah" single, is that an accordion i hear in the drum/dub sounds??
track 8: "the fulham connection", new wave/funk/latino sounds here.
track 9: "midnight to stevens", .a straightforward soft rock song.
track 10: "sean flynn (extended version)", a musical montage.
track 11: "idle in kangaroo court", similar vein to what is already on 'combat rock'.
track 12: "know your rights", a softer alternative version to the one that opens the "combat rock" album.
all up, just too experimental for my liking and Combat Rock would have been the album that lost me totally with these guys had it not been their real last studio album.
best for me from the second disk:
