ROD STEWART "out of order" cd, 1988
from the box-set...
his fifteenth,
first time i heard this album was about ten days ago but i knew the singles as i own three of those on 7" vinyl...
so, eleven tracks, eight credit Stewart as writer or co-writer. one other was written for Stewart, the other two are decades old and could be considered 'great american songbook' songs...
album produced by members of Power Station and the rock songs do have a bit of a similar feel to songs by Power Station.
all up though i find this album a bit underwhelming and flat, not sure if it is the songs themselves or the production.
seven rockers or soft rockers on the album and a handful of ballads and as usual, the ballads are the best tracks...
a very average album and the best tracks for me are the two covers.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
1: lost in you **
2: the wild horse **
3: lethal dose of love **
4: forever young **
5: my heart cant tell you no **
6: dynamite *
7: nobody knws you when youre down and out **
8: crazy about her *
9: try a little tenderness **
10: when i was your man **
11: almost illegal **
