Peter Knight was born on this day in 1947, in London, England. A highly esteemed fiddler, he was with Steeleye Span from 1971 to 1977 and then from 1980 to 2013. He also sings and plays keys. Classically trained from a young age, he’s been following a few different muses since 2013 including (but not limited to) a project called Peter Knight’s Gigspanner. Interesting sounds encompassing a blend of genres – folk, jazz and driving rhythms.
