This popped into my line of sight and I listened out of curiosity - (I actually have a Gun Club record which I've never listened to - the origins of its acquisition are lost in the mists of time!). This rendition reminds me very much of the duet that Nick Cave did with Marianne Faithfull - "The Gypsy Faerie Queen". I read a bit about how this collaboration and project came about - a troubled soul was Jeffrey Lee Pierce, by all accounts - all over the place and constantly in the wars, ironically (Gun Club); he was a great admirer of Ms Harry and she a friend to him, so this is a homage. He had also connected with Nick Cave on one of his albums so they too had had a working relationship, of sorts.
