I will keep listening to their new releases which are technically great and I like the concept that they chose which is basically an artist losing himself inside a woodcut – the world he had created within, but despite all the musical prowess, I’m just not vibing much with this one. This is their second album with Alberto Bravin on lead vocals and he has a good rock voice, without doubt - I just can’t seem to feel it. Or maybe it’s just that he sounds generic – I dunno what it is. I find the secondary voice of Rikard Sjoblom much more interesting. In any event, I expect there will be plenty of takers - perhaps I am just grumpy and have unrealistic expectations!
This band fits the prog rock description, harking very much back to the 70’s, although the longest track on the 66 minute long album is a mere seven minutes and sixteen seconds in duration! I’m kinda sorry that I not going to pursue it any further, but oh well – it is what it is. I most like the instrumental interlude “Hawthorn White” … could have done with some more of this ...
