I think that there are one or two albums that have the power to make you think that the surreal or something like it could be possible:
This is one of them: I have always loved the TV program âThe Twilight Zoneâ and believe that the Album âLoveâ would fit in to the series as follows :
Scene One
George Martin, and his son Giles have just arrived at Georgeâs London Home ( Did you know, that George lives in a converted church building , at one end is Georgeâs living accommodation and at the other is a recording studio , which lives in the translucent image of the light from one of the former churchâs stained glass windows.? What an atmosphere in which to record!!!) George and Giles have been in deep conversation about how George worked with The Beatles and how the recording barriers of the time were stretched and broken : each time the five of them met to start on a new album........................Giles has listened with intense interest, as George has relived his stories and has added comments about if only they had had 21st century recording technology then, what would the end result have sounded like?....................The conversations had gone on , until George Martin remembers that he has an appointment at Abby Road in about thirty minutes and, invites Giles along so that he can see the place...................The scene ends with both of them taking a taxi to Abbey Road , leaving the cab, and walking towards the doors of the building............................
Scene Two takes us back in time, to the last full Beatles recording session. They are just putting the finishing touches to a few tracks on Abbey Road and the atmosphere though tense, is thoughtful too.............they realise that this is a special time in history; they will not work together again in the same studio on a Beatles album.... and each Beatle is secretly feeling that in a way, they wish that there could one day be the chance to work together again. However, as the last few moments tick away, they realise that it could never be.............................They finish the last few pieces of work needed on the album and then all four get ready to leave. They head to the outer door and get ready to go. Just as they get to the door .....time freezes............ and they are locked in a time travel tunnel, at the other end are George and Giles Martin from the future and the Beatles from the last days of the sixties........As they meet.........Rod Serling appears and goes through the open sequence of a an episode of â The Twilight Zoneâ
The Beatles realise that they have been give the chance to visit the 21st century, in the mirror position, George and Giles realise that they have been give access to all that the Beatles ever recorded , with the ability to utilize 21st century technology!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we are left staring at the result................a little silver disc which is the child of the two parties involved in the time travel collision..............................Of course....it is called âLoveâ because it is the love child of two ships that pass in the night..................but what does it contain ?
WE have twenty odd remixed and re-mastered Beatles originals using their creative genius from the sixties and 21st century technology to fulfil their wildest dreams.
The Tracks are:
And what difference did they make? Well to start with everything is in high quality stereo and beyond (DTS 5.1 mixes )â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦..Artistically: they added extra atmosphere and context to the songs that were chosen. Technically they were able to use samples from one track to enhance others which means that they were no longer limited by the technology of the sixties.
There is tremendous fun in trying to locate the samples and work out which track they originally come from and beware they have used all possible recordings â¦demos â¦out takes and one new piece of recording
The recording technology has also came of ageâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦This came out on vinylâ¦â¦.24 Bit CD and DVD A in which one can really see the scope of the advances we ( might) have made. It is amazing how recordings largely made on valve based equipment stand up so well after some forty years.

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )
