About half of this book made absolutely no sense to me. Come to find out (wiki), part of it is written in a style called stream of consciousness. I don't know what that means, other than, it's stupid. Sentences that run for pages and pages, with no punctuation, and no dialogue. The book is about a southern family at the turn of the century and how their reputation is being destroyed, by the raising of a severely handicapped boy, and the antics of a teenage girl. Mostly enjoyed the dialogue bewtween the black servants, which is hard to read, but once you mentally put yourself in that environment, it gradually falls into place. But that first part I mentioned was a real bitch to read.
