And then before you know it i was listening to Robert Johnson recordings from 1936. none of my friend like the music i like they generally like lil wayne or some other rapper who thinks groping women in a video makes them cool. and i got to thinking what where people older than me tastes in music when they were 16 (my age) so i was hoping the older members on this forum could discuss this and give me a very interesting insight.
to a great extent i believe that you are correct as i know plenty of 18-23yo's, however they are not into rap, apart from Eminem, they tend to listen to Heavy Metal...but luckily, like you, there are a couple i know who appreciate the legends of rock music...these guys play McCartney and Johnny Cash in their cars as often as the newer stuff...
its like ive always said...to appreciate music fully you need to go back to the originators of where it all began
