Alan Parsons was a prominent recording engineer at Abbey Road Studios - he engineered The Dark Side of The Moon - who teamed up with Eric Woolfson (who died fairly recently) and a revolving team of session players to produce a string of competent and beautifully recorded albums.
This was the big one from '81, and it couldn't be avoided throughout Europe during that summer. The music contains elements of the Pink Floyd sound (but not too much), and the orchestral sections bear comparison with ELO's way of doing things.
My copy is an original 29 year old vinyl copy which still sounds absolutely pristine. I look after my records well !!
