I had an album years ago. .... Somewhere around 1992 or so, but I can't remember the name. I liked that. .... (runs to check CD wall) ... Okay, it's The Colour Of Love. I got it because I was crazy about the song "The Power Of Love". I liked that album okay enough I guess, but I never bought another Dion album. The music was kind of generic to me.
Last year, one of my best friends invited me to a Celine Dion concert. His date fell through at the last minute and he knew I was a music freak, so he called me. I didn't think I'd enjoy the concert much, but I had a very good time. Celine was very personable in her chit-chat and very dynamic as a singer. The most interesting facet of the evening was how the fans reacted. It was like being in the middle of the most appreciative, most involved, most obsessed, most excited concert crowd. They were really into it, singing, dancing, taking pictures, crying, the whole nine yards. I don't know what I expected, but it was clear that the sell-out crowd was full of people who loved Celine with a passion. I left that concert with an entirely new appreciation of her.
