I'm new here so don't want to start off with criticism, but I don't like R&B and Hip Hop or Rap lumped into the same category. Rap although born of R&B is not a musician or singers medium where R&B is truly a musicians and singers medium. R&B does not degrade women or anyone else at least not to my experience. R&B has always glorified sex and love but usually in a clever and or artistic and adult manner. The Hip Hop or Rap influence on the younger generation has had a somewhat negative impact on modern commercial R&B. There is still a vital R&B world out there. It is not front and center though, you have to go looking for it.
