Listening to The Division Bell by Floyd. I know a lot of Floyd fans think anything post-Waters is second-rate material, but this album just keeps growing on me. Constantly noticing different sounds in the mix. As a final album from a band with a huge reputation it's actually very good - a return to their roots in one way. That hurdy-gurdy carnival sound on 'Poles Apart' is a masterful touch. A fitting epitaph to the psychedelic dream. (maybe 'A Requiem for the Post-War Dream??). Marvellous stuff - wish it was about 10 times longer.
Also reading a few comments from Mr Gilmour. He said that 'The Final Cut' was the best Roger Waters solo album and the worst Pink Floyd album. (personally I think it's brilliant and actually prefer it to 'The Wall'). He also said that it should have been called 'The Final Straw' which I find quite funny.
