PAUL STANLEY "kiss" 1978, vinyl, Russian picture disc and cd #58 Aust, #40 US
Paul Stanley was and still is the most important mamber of KISS, and at 60+ years of age shows no sign of slowing down.
whereas, in the early days of me being a KISS fan, i was like most other guys who either liked Gene or Ace,probably for their theatrics more than anything else, but as i got older it was apparent that Paul was the "rocker" and most talented member.
this album from the "time out" of 1978 is the most KISSlike of all the albums with its rock 'n' roll, blues number(aint quite right) and its soaring rock ballads, theres plenty of Paul's trademark riffs attached to these songs and some sing-a-long chorus lines, which all make for a pleasant rock album, only Peter's and Paul's albums sound fresh today, Ace and Gene's sound a bit flat and dated, thus the reflection in the ratings for each album.
Paul has a really good strong rock voice and is among the best around at crafting a great rock song, as long as there is a Paul Stanley around rock will never die!
