ELVIS PRESLEY "viva elvis, the album" 2010,cd. #48 US, #19 UK, #48 AU.
another one of those Cirque Du Soleil remix album to coincide with their live circus acts. The Beatle one called "love" they did several years ago wasnt too bad(i dont own it)....but being an Elvisphile im a born sucker for anything with his name attached to it. actually thought this one might have been a bit better than it is purely from the fact that astute businesswoman and Elvis' ex Priscilla was involved in the process of this. guess this is ok in the context of seeing the Soleil show but as a stand alone remix thing it just dont work.
some of the tracks have been put together quite cleverly, but nothing here is as good as the JXL remix of "a little less conversation" or the follow-up "rubberneckin" remix several years ago.
"Cant Help Fallin' In Love" gets a touch of a gospel feel towards the end which is surprisingly good though and probably my top pick here slightly ahaed of "suspicious minds" which is also quite respectable. a duet with Jessica Mauboy in "love me tender" is totally cringeworthy, posthumous duets should not be allowed! Nat and Natalie was pretty good, as was the Beatles two from 'anthology', but it should stop there!
