I feel totally overwhelmed at times with all the music available today ! My queque of CDs to listen to is a mile (kilometre) long. I liked Music Head's reply to the Most Played Albums post. Basically listen to it and that's it...if I've misquoted you MH. please let us know.
Sometimes I feel like just going back in time and listening to the familiar rock classics, but that bores me quickly after a few listens. I gained a lot of knowledge looking at all of your music lists through various posts and therefore I have an immense catalogue to explore with so little time....only so many hours in a day !
How do you get through all the music out there without becoming overwhelmed ? We can't possibly listen to it all...do you listen to a few random tracks and say Yeah or Nay or do you listen to the entire CD ? I have tried the entire CD route and sometimes ( not from your lists) I find it painfully boring and say to myself please end, please.
Even if I said Yeah to a new CD...like today's discovery - TV on the Radio - Nine Types of Light...I loved this album because it was simple good rock and reminded me of Bowie. But will I play it again...maybe once and two if it's lucky.
A friend of mine, Fred, said that he looked at it this way - it's overwhelming but exciting ! Maybe that's the best way to look at it and chill out a bit. I don't feel pressured to listen to something new I just think I'll miss a great one that got away if I only listen to some !

The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!
